Canoe Hire
Canoes are a popular boat for exploring the lake – perfect for taking a picnic and visiting an island or the beautiful shoreline along Derwent Water.
We have a fleet of modern “Mad River” canoes which are fitted with extra buoyancy.
Canoes are paddled using a single bladed paddle.

Suitable additional items for the weather e.g. warm hats, sun hats etc.
Any launching of your own craft alongside hire must be pre-booked. Please ring 01768772912 for availability and fees.

Weight limit (all people and kit) 39 stone / 248 kg
Normally there should be at least one adult in each canoe – it is sometimes possible to “raft” two canoes together to create a stable platform.
Minimum age for unaccompanied hire is 18yrs
