It is the start of another busy year here at Derwent Water Marina and as always there is lots to do throughout the Winter to maintain and prepare the site for the Summer Season. In addition to daily checks and maintenance around the site we are busy servicing engines and boats in the workshop, decorating apartments, upgrading the shop and kit areas, and even having solar panels fitted to the roof.
You may have noticed that the view from our Webcam has not providing you with the stunning view of the Marina and Lake that would normally expect. For this we can only apologise but in our efforts to lower our carbon footprint and keep the power on 24/7 we have been having Solar Panels fitted to the roof over the holiday period.
With the work now complete, we are delighted to confirm that the view has been restored and we are already generating power despite all the cold frosty weather!
The Summer Season will kick off on Good Friday – 29th March. We highly recommended you pre-book hire or tuition via our website, especially for weekends and holidays periods. Our online booking system will be available from the end of January / start of February.

Our winter sale is now on and there is up to 35% off selected items including watersports clothing and accessories. Ex-hire Paddle Boards, Canoes & Kayaks are also available to buy now so why not drop by and pick yourself up a bargain.
Need to get your boat ready for the summer? We have a wide range of spare parts, cleaners, paints, and polishes – Just pop in and ask and we can order it in if we’ve not got it in stock.
The shop is open every day from 9am to 5pm and parking is available on site.
Don’t forget if you pay the balance of your Summer Fees by 31st January, you will get an early payment discount. Look out for details in your email inbox for the amount you need to pay.
Looking for Boat Storage for the Season?
We have a few places available on the water or on shore for dinghies, canoes and kayaks. Please contact us for more information on availability and pricing or view details on the website.
Coming on holiday to the Lakes and want to bring a boat with you? It can be difficult to find places to launch on Derwent Water so why not book ‘Short Stay Storage’ for 1 or 2 weeks stay. Alternatively if you book to stay in one of our apartments here on site you can bring your boat with you at no extra cost!

As well all the ongoing site work, we have also been busy in the Shop and Office upgrading our Till System. This will alter the way that we do things including taking payments. There is no change to card payments taken within the shop or online via our website. However, we will no longer be able to take card payments over the phone due to increased payment security. Currently you can pay via bank transfer (especially easy via a mobile banking app), pop in the shop or send us a good old fashioned cheque. We will also be able to send you a Secure Payment link for an easier way to pay. If you need to make a payment and have any queries please just contact us.
The workshop is extremely busy with lots of jobs already booked in. If you need your engine serviced or any maintentance work doing on your boat it is important that you contact us as soon as possible.
We are unable to guarantee that we will be able to get all jobs done in time for the start of the new season if you leave it too late.
